Version 0.2.2 behavior is documented here. Thesupport record separates local verification frompublished MoonX behavior; moonx examples use registry releases.
Options: -b a|t|n number all/nonempty/no body lines (default t), -h and-f select header/footer styles, -w N sets number width (default 6), and-s SEP sets the separator (default TAB). -v N sets the initial number,-i N its increment, -d STRING selects the section delimiter (default \:), and-p prevents page resets. -n ln|rn|rz selects left, right, or zero-paddednumber fields; -l N numbers only the last line in each complete group of Nblank lines when style a is active. Section markers are replaced by blanklines. The locale-sensitive pBRE numbering style remains outside this fixedC-locale profile and is rejected. With -d, a single-byte value retains : as the second delimiter byte; anempty value disables section markers. Other values are used as supplied.Header, body and footer markers repeat the delimiter three, two and one times.
With no file operand, the command silently reads stdin until EOF, matching theupstream terminal, pipe, redirection, and explicit - behavior.
Standalone --version prints exactly nl 0.2.2 followed by onenewline. Standalone --help starts with Usage: nl, lists bothmetadata options, and ends with a newline. Both write to stdout, leave stdinunread, and exit with status 0. Exact-version publication and verificationremain recorded separately in the support record.
