Version 0.1.4 behavior is documented here. Thesupport record separates local verification frompublished MoonX behavior; moonx examples use registry releases.
Line-feed bytes and the absence of a final line feed are preserved. Input isstandard input when operands are absent; multiple file operands are processedin order without inserted bytes, and later files continue after an error. An explicit - is a filename in the frozen util-linux 2.40 profile; thisreplaces the previous workspace stdin extension while published behaviorremains frozen. The reader retains only the current record and a 64 KiB inputblock; reversal allocates one record-sized output buffer. Storage thereforegrows with the longest record, rather than the complete input. Output uses a64 KiB buffer, so the first write can wait for that buffer to fill, EOF or aninput error. Completed accepted records are flushed after an input error;failed output writes are propagated without replaying the buffer. The profileselects the fixed Linux C-locale behavior: ASCII bytes, including NUL, arereversed without decoding; a record containing a non-ASCII byte is rejectedbefore that record is written. Earlier complete records remain on stdout, the diagnostic reports their count, and later named files still continue.Multibyte locale character semantics are not claimed. Earlier macOS nativeprovider observations accepted high bytes; those observations do not establishthe fixed Linux provider's C-locale behavior.
Standalone --version prints exactly rev 0.1.4 followed by onenewline. Standalone --help starts with Usage: rev, lists bothmetadata options, and ends with a newline. Both write to stdout, leave stdinunread, and exit with status 0. Exact-version publication and verificationremain recorded separately in the support record.
